The mission of Arthur Ashe Charter School is to provide an Education for Life. It is an open admissions, public charter school operated by FirstLine Schools, a local nonprofit dedicated to creating and inspiring great public schools in New Orleans. Arthur Ashe Charter School helps students acquire the academic skills to achieve in high school and college, while providing a caring community and a variety of activities that nurture students' intellectual, social and emotional growth. This guide for parents was produced by a coalition of community groups in collaboration with public school officials including the Recovery School District and the New Orleans Public Schools administration.
