David Schumacher, JD 
Executive Director

Mr. Schumacher, founder of A's & Aces, is responsible for its overall management and strategic direction. Mr. Schumacher was the top-ranked junior in Louisiana, a collegiate conference champion and played 50 pro events in Europe and the US. Mr. Schumacher practiced law for 18 years focusing on general civil litigation and appellate practice. He is an Elite-level United States Professional Tennis Association pro who has taught the game to thousands of children including over 100 who have played collegiately, many earning tennis scholarships. During a seven year term ended by Hurricane Katrina, Coach Schumacher guided the never-before-ranked Tulane women’s team into the NCAA top-10, was five-times selected “Louisiana Coach of the Year", and was named Conference USA “Coach of the Decade”. He coached the first individual National Champions in any sport at Tulane in 50 years, Tulane’s first women’s tennis All-Americans, first Female Student-Athlete of the Year, 29 All-Conference selections, 35 individual ITA Scholar-Athletes and multiple Academic All-America teams. Post-Katrina he ran the Schumacher Tennis Club at Tulane until launching A's & Aces in 2008.


Freya Hoffman-Terry, BA
COO/Program Manager

Ms. Hoffman-Terry has an extensive work experience in the non-profit world. She worked for America Scores New England as a Senior Program Manager. Prior to that she served with the U.S. Peace Corps, Coastal Resource Management in Philippines, where she conducted environmental education lessons and organized a literacy program. She joined A's & Aces in 2013 first as an Academic/Life-Skills Coach and now she serves as the organization's COO/Program Manager. 

Ms. Hoffman-Terry received a BA in Sociology, Education Program, from William Smith College, Geneva, NY.

​Kate Turvy
Administrative and Development Coordinator
​

Ms. Turvy has deep roots in the tennis world as both a player and coach. She was a top ranked junior and reached as high as #11 in the nation in the Division 1 ITA college rankings. She also played professionally for two years and was ranked by the WTA in both singles and doubles. Prior to joining A's and Aces, she coached at high performing programs in Ohio and New York.

Ms. Turvy graduated from Northwestern University in 2013 with a degree in Human Development and Psychological Services and a minor in Business Institutions. 


Jason Hampton, MA
Head Tennis Coach, A's & Aces Tournament Training Team

Certified as a Tennis Professional by the United States Professional Tennis Association,  Coach Hampton works in the development of top-ranked junior players.

He earned a Master of Arts in English (American Literature with Concentration in Teaching), University of New Orleans, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Sociology minor), University of North Carolina-Durham.



Charles Gibson, BA
Life-Skills and Tennis Coach, Coach Across America

Coach Gibson graduated from Oberlin College in 2013 with a Bachelor's in Psychology. Prior to joining A's & Aces, Coach Gibson  worked with children as a tutor and was a camp counselor at Sidwell Friends Tennis Camp, Washington D.C., for  nine summers. He is a former high school tennis player who also played for Oberlin College.



Alan Green, MA 
Tennis Coach

Coach Green received a M.A. degree in Counseling from Xavier University. Since 2002 he has been the Head Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams at Xavier. Since Coach Green took over the teams, both the Gold Rush and the Gold Nuggets has qualified for the NAIA Region XIII Tournament every year.  Coach Green brought the teams to their highest national ranking ever and  has been named Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) Coach of the Year.  Prior to his coaching career, Coach Green was a standout player at Xavier.




Eric Pallin, BA 
Tennis Coach

Coach Pallin received a BA in French from University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. His certifications include DELF B2 French Proficiency. 

Coach Pallin is a former college and high school student-athlete. He has taught French at L.E. Phillips Senior Center in Eau Claire, WI, tutored biology and chemistry at the university level, and served as a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters


​​Megan Robinson

Life-Skills and Tennis Coach

Megan graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Southeastern Louisiana University in Health Education & Promotion.  She has worked as a multi-sport coach at a local charter school before joining A's & Aces.






​Kaley French 

Tennis coach and Administrative Assistant

Ms. French  serves as a tennis coach and administrative assistant.  She is part of Tulane Accelerated Physician Training Program (TAP-TP) and is currently a junior at Tulane studying cell and molecular biology.  She has worked as a tutor in math, biology and chemistry.  Ms. French is also trained lifeguard and swim instructor. 




Eduardo Garcia

Tennis Coach

Coach Garcia has coached for A's & Aces over the last 2 summers.  He is currently studying Criminal Justice at Loyola University, where he played on the tennis team and served as a member of the Athlete Leadership Council.
