Sue Bower
Director of Athletics, Sacred Heart School Ms. Bower is a former Tulane University Associate Athletic Director for Administrative Services and Senior Women's Administrator. Mrs. Bower was an outstanding student-athlete at Dartmouth College in women's golf. In 1992 she took over as Head Coach of the Tulane Women's Golf team and proceeded to transform the program into one of the top programs in the nation. She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of The First Tee of Greater New Orleans. Bill Phillips
USTA Southern Tennis Service Representative for Louisiana Mr. Phillips began teaching tennis while in the U.S. Air Force over 40 years ago. His credits include: community coordinator and director of community development for USTA Louisiana, president of USPTA Louisiana and president of the USPTA Southern Division. His Community Tennis Association (CTA) experience: includes founding a CTA, as well as being Board member, volunteer, advisor/consultant, and employee. Bill’s areas of expertise include non-profit organizations, community and public relations, parks and recreation, volunteerism, special events, development, fundraising, USTA and other tennis programming. Investment advisor, V.P. Dorsey Investment Securities Mr. Rueb previously served two 3-year terms on the A's & Aces Board of Directors. He is an investment advisor and Vice-President of Dorsey Investment Securities. He is a member of the Financial Analysts of New Orleans, the New Orleans Council of Business Economists and the University of New Orleans Finance and Economics Advisory Board. Mr. Rueb holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration from Trinity University and a Masters of Business Administration from Tulane's A.B. Freeman School of Business. Leila Schumacher
Mrs. Schumacher served as the Executive Director of the New Orleans Estate Planning Council. She is also a former Executive Director of the Women's Professional Council and a former Development Associate at Audubon Nature Institute. Mrs. Schumacher received her degree from Tulane University and has experience in nonprofit organizational management. She assists A's & Aces with development and fundraising. Andrew Shahan
School Leader, ARISE Schools Network Mr. Shahan is an expert in the field of Special Education, with teaching experience in Atlanta, New York and Guatemala, including two years at KIPP: STAR, one of the highest-performing public schools in New York City. He has an MEd in Interrelated Special Education from North Georgia College and State University. Andrew is an avid tennis player and advises A's & Aces regarding a broad range of topics, including the New Orleans educational environment, programmatic considerations. Margaret Silverstein, JD
Attorney, Baker Donelson Margaret Silverstein, previously served two 3-year terms on the A's & Aces Board of Directors. She is a native New Orleanian who graduated from the Tulane University School of Law. Mrs. Silverstein is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, and her practice areas include business law and investments. Mrs. Silverstein and her husband, Jimmy, have two children, Caroline and Robert. Ms. Silverstein is a 3.0 NTRP player. Karen Sulzer
Karen earned a Bachelor of Architecture from LSU and has worked as Project Manager leading projects in the residential, commercial, hospitality and nonprofit industries. She was very involved in recovery efforts in post-Katrina Louisiana and developed constructive working local, state, and federal level relationships with local architecture, engineering, interior design and construction firms. She is a member of the Women Business Enterprise National Council and The International Association of Emergency Managers. Karen is a photographer, and an active league tennis player. She cares about children, education and health. |
