SATURDAY CLINICS
Red Ball - beginner9:00-10:00 - Beginner - Novice level
This is a "point of entry" clinic open to beginners and inexperienced children, mainly ages 6-10 (and 5 yr old children with an attending, parent are welcome to try out tennis in this clinic). Children with interest to learn to play tennis and attend regularly advance fast to the next level. The first clinic is free; thereafter the low-cost sliding scale fee structure is designed to make regular attendance available to all. The Red Ball Tennis clinic uses a "child-sized" format with 36' courts, up to 23" rackets, and lower-bounce red balls. Orange Ball - intermediate10:00-11:30am - Intermediate level
The Orange Ball format uses 60' courts, up to 25" rackets, and higher-bounce orange balls. Children in this clinic have demonstrated a level of interest and skills appropriate to the Orange Ball group (usually ages 8-11), as well as some interest in competing. It is recommended that players attending this session also participate in the after-school program on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-6pm. |
Green & Yellow Ball - advanced11:30am -1:30pm - Advanced level
This clinic is designed for players who made progression from orange ball level or have a prior tennis experience. Players in this cohort compete in tournaments. Tournament training cohort meets during this time as well. |
