June 29, 2017 - The Crescent City Tournament Defeats the Rain
This one-day, "non-elimination" tournament was designed to use short scoring formats and provide multiple matches for each competitor. Despite 3 heavy rain delays, A's & Aces' staff and volunteers were able to dry the courts and continue playing and finish the tournament before night fall on Thursday, June 29. Entrants included fifteen (15) Red Ball 8 & U children at the Dillard University courts, and, at NORDC's Joe Brown Park Tennis Center, eighteen (18) players competed in the Orange and Green Ball 10 & U "Youth Tennis Progression Pathway" draws, and fourteen(14) competitors in the 12s Green Ball boys and girls divisions.
